FARMERS REGISTER
Both individuals and legal entities who are engaged in rural activity are obligated to sign up to the farmers register (M.A.A.E). The function of the registry is to record all national agricultural professional activities and holdings, including all the necessary alphanumeric and cartographic information, in order to accommodate decision making and to implement rural policy (Ν. 3874/2010).
The term agricultural activities and holdings envelopes among others, production, storing, standardization, packaging and positioning in general, up until the stage of wholesale and retail of the produce. At the same time, agricultural activity refers to the processing of said produce, for instance sea, inland or shellfish fishing, aquaculture, as well as, the management of renewable energy sources up to 100 KW and the operation of agritourism units.
