VINEYARD RESTRUCTURING

The restructuring and conversion of vineyards scheme covers the following areas:

1. Eradication and preparation of soil – replanting
2. Grafting- on (for the varietal conversion of the vineyards)
3. Improving the technical managements of vineyards (pit-propping, terrace constructions)

The scheme deals exclusively with vineyards and provides for the restructuring of pre-existing vines or the creation of new ones, in order to increase the competitiveness of the vineyard holdings through the quality upgrade of the staff, the planting of in-demand grape varieties and the import of eco-friendly, modern practices.

Vineyard restructuring applies to holdings that meet the following criteria:

a) the vineyards are planted with grapes that are used in the production of wine and are classified according to the article No. 2919/95506/13-9-2017 Υ.Α. (ΦΕΚ 3276Β)
b) the holdings in question are registered in the official Vineyards Register
c) the vineyard owners have registered the vineyard holdings and farming activities as they ought to
d) owners have submitted their E.A.E./ OSDE application for the current calendar year
e) owners are fully compliant with their governmental and community provisions that relate to their vineyard farming activities and holdings

The minimum possible area that one needs in order to participate in the vineyard restructuring scheme is half (0,5) an acre.

In the case of new vineyard creation, the newly planted vines should be preserved for at least ten (10) years. This period is calculated based on the first year the beneficiaries receive financial support. This obligation follows the land holdings, regardless of ownership.

The planting of new vineyards should adhere to the following criteria:

a) the vibes should be planted in the same place where the old ones were rogued out from or in a different location of the same holding, but of equal space to the one that was eradicated
b) the newly planted vines should follow the modern winegrowing systems, whether they have pit-propping or not
c) the plantation should also adhere to the existing domestic law (No. 2454/235853/20-9-2019 ΦΕΚ 3645β/1-10-2019 Υ.Α. as it currently stands)
