GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE ORGANIC FARMING SCHEME
Scheme 11 - “Biological Farming offers public benefits that contribute to the preservation and protection of the environment and animal welfare.
FIELD OF APPLICATION
This scheme is applicable throughout Greece and is valid for agricultural parcels with arable crops and/or permanent crops (trees, vines), as well as, pastures that have been registered in the EAE/OSDE application.
BENEFICIARIES
Any natural or legal person and any group consisting of natural or legal people, that are actively occupied in the agricultural industry, are eligible as beneficiaries of this scheme, according to the 104/7056/21-1-2015 (ΦΕΚ 147/Β’/22-1-2015) law, also known as, “National selections, administrative measures and processes for direct support based on Kan (EE) 1306/2013 of the European Parliament and its Council”
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
The eligible agricultural parcels with crops/pastures should meet the following criteria:
• Be registered in the latest EAE/OSDE application
• The beneficiary should have legal ownership of the parcels during the time of application to the scheme and for the entire duration of the commitment to the support plan
• The parcels registered in EAE/OSDE application should be planted with crops that are included in the scheme criteria, during the time of application of the support plan
• The minimum required density of planting for olive trees plantations is 80 trees per hectare
• The agricultural parcels should be included in a valid contract with the Control and Certification Association during the time of application to the schemes 11.2.1 and 11.2.2 and remain so up until the time of the notification of approval by the investment program
• The minimum acceptable size of parcels is 0,1 Ha and should stay so, throughout the duration of the commitment to the investment plan. For permanent plantations, the minimum acceptable size for parcels to be included in the scheme is 0,3 Ha, for arable crops is 0,2 Ha and, finally, for parcels that combine the two types, the minimum acceptable size is 0,3 Ha.
